Fun with Food and a Movie

The Magalang, Matapat, and Masipag classes had fun waiting for their turn to present their song at Parent's Night last July 27, 2012. Here's what they had to say about it.
The food was very tasty and the movie was neat. The food was caramel popcorn and the drinks were iced tea for the class and coke for the ate's (and this is only for the movie). The movie we watched was Shrek the Third.
The food upstairs were pizza, doughnuts, barbeque, and hotdogs.
The movie was short because there was no time left. But it was still fun.

A Touching Video and Song at CLP School's Parent's Nightby Kalel Joson, Sophia Redillas, Nathan Canon, and Jannah Mooring
August 2, 2012 At Parent's Night, we sang and showed a video of appreciation and apology for our parents. While watching the video, some parents and teachers cried tears of joy. The video was really nice and creative. After watching the video, we sang "You" by The Carpenters. The song "You" is a beautiful song that is why we used it. The Parent's Night is for the parents, teachers, and students to bond with each other. We had fun singing the song and presenting the video. |
Hand Game and Shirtsby Little Popstar Princess, Gerri Dones, and Sarah Deakin
August 2, 2012 At Parent's Night, we put pictures of students' hands from the Lower, Middle, and Upper school classes. The point of the game was for parents to guess their child's hand. Many parents guessed correctly, while others guessed wrong. They just laughed. Parents wrote letters at the back of their child's hand picture. They wrote words of appreciation as well as how proud and how much they love their children. As a gift to the parents, all students made cool and nice shirts. They drew on sandpaper then ironed it on white t-shirts. They made one shirt for mom, one for dad, and one for themselves. Students from CLP wore their shirts on Parent's Night except the Student Council who had to wear their official CLP polo shirt for their oath taking. |
clp students and teachers organize a relief operationBy Javy Tongco
August 30, 2012 At 10:00 a.m. of August 9, 2012, CLP students were asked to volunteer for CLP's relief operation. At the start of the relief operation, the students packed goods for the flood victims. Some students put the food and water into different bags while some packed clothes. This process went on from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. After a quick lunch, the teachers and Student Council (SC) officers left for Sta. Rosa police station, then to the office of the mayor of Sta. Rosa to inform her of the donations. From there, the CLP SC and teachers went to the evacuation center to give the donations to the victims. After talking to some of the victims, most of the said that their houses were flooded to the point where they just cannot stay there anymore. The ages of these people were from a nearly newly born child to a 60-year old woman. After this long day, the CLP SC and teachers went home. They arrived at CLP around 7:00 p.m. no school and extensions!By Gerri Dones
August 30, 2012 No school! No school! There was no school! The rain at my house was very loud and scary. Because of the rains and flood, there was no school starting August 7, 2012. Paranaque City Mayor Jun Bernabe announced the suspension until August 10, 2012. Extensions for missed classes at CLP started on August 15, Wednesday, and will end on September 28, 2012. Most classes usually end at 2:30 or 3:00 p.m. but we extended one hour. They now end at 3:30 or 4:00 p.m. Many students are tired after school. Most students might complain but we need to study. Our parents pay for our education. |
why there was floodBy Jannah Mooring
August 30, 2012 Leptospirosis. Dengue. These are just some of the diseases that can be caused by rats, cockroaches, and flies that are attracted to a dirty environment. The trash clogged the sewers causing one of the most extreme floods in Roxas Boulevard, Manila Bay. It was not safe to walk in the streets because of all the trash from the bay. People had to stay in their homes. Some without enough food to eat. Others got sick. We all know it was our fault why the flood happened. Families struggled and some lost their lives. But the solution is simple. There is one little thing you can do if you do not want to lose any more lives in the flood. Throw your trash properly. Red cross helps flood victims during the floodsBy Ladybug and Princess
August 30, 2012 From August 7 to 10, it was flooding so much that peopole had to evacuate in different areas. The Philippine Red Cross helped lots of flood victims. They risked their lives and walked on muddy, icky water to save the flood victims. The water was very dirty but lots of people walked in it. Some people got dengue and other diseases because of the water and the weather. The Philippine Red Cross also gave donations to the flood victims. If you have a chance to help, please do it. You will make a change. |
flood everywhere!

Many people are in the evacuation centers because of the flood last August 7, 2012. There were many houses that got washed away. Many people were rescued, but not all were saved. The flood was very high that many drowned. People in the evacuation centers are mostly people who lost homes and were affected by the flood.
I watched Bandila every night and it said that people were scared, hungry, and sad. Hospitals and schools were used as evacuation centers for the homeless. Rescuers were saving people who were stranded on their roofs or the second floor of their homes. Floods rose up to neck high and the water was very dirty.
It is really sad that the people lost homes because of the heavy rain and flood, but many people also helped through donations. People are donating clothes, toiletries, food, and bottles of water to the evacuation centers. They are very generous. Because of the donations, the people in the evacuation centers are comforted. We should all help our fellow Filipinos to empower their spirit to go through this disaster.
